Local Health Team Wins Top Industry Awards

Building Better Health has won two prestigious industry awards - including the sought after ‘Design Champion of the Year Award' that went to delighted Chief Executive, Sylvie Pierce.
A reflection of her commitment to delivering inspiring and architecturally superior buildings, Sylvie's Design Champion of the Year Award, confirms that London is benefiting from the best healthcare scheme designs in the industry.
Sylvie Pierce commented, "I couldn't win an award I'd be more proud of. I believe passionately that good public service and design go hand in hand. Without the public sector partners wanting this level of quality none of this would have been possible." She continued, "This recognition is testimony to the continued dedication, professionalism and vision of the entire team and our relationships with our clients, who we are honoured to work with on projects that are redefining healthcare design in the UK."
The teams successes were announced at the 10th annual Building Better Healthcare awards held last week at The Brewery in London. The awards are the biggest and most respected awards in the healthcare built environment.
Building Better Health is working with a number of London PCTs as partner in an NHS initiative called NHS LIFT. LIFT (Local Improvement and Finance Trust) is a major Department of Health Initiative, which aims to stimulate investment in modern integrated primary and other community based services. The initiative will deliver new health schemes in the borough as part of an agreement that covers three regions: Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham; Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth, Croydon, Kingston, Richmond & Twickenham; Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham.
As well as Design Champion of the Year, Building Better Health's project, The Waldron Health Centre in Lewisham, won the Best Primary Care Design award. The firm's Sunshine House project was highly commended in the Best Use of Visual Art in Healthcare category, as were Building Better Health in the Best Project Team category.
Judges were looking for several elements of excellence, including a healthcare environment built in an innovative and professional manner, offering a superior patient environment and meeting the needs of the facilities, estates, products and people.
Rising above a record 141 other entries, Building Better Health continues to show its expertise in property development, design solutions and a competitive understanding of healthcare.
