Final awaits for Building Better Health

October 23rd, 2008

Building Better Health is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in no less four categories at the prestigious Building Better Healthcare awards, organised by Binley's. Meeting strict criteria, Building Better Health and its projects have been shortlisted in the following categories; Best Primary Care Design Award; Best Use of Visual Art In Healthcare; Best Project Team; Design Champion of the Year.

For its dedication to quality and best value, Building Better Health, in conjunction with its superior supply chain, has been nominated for the Best Project Team. Chief Executive Sylvie Pierce has been nominated for Design Champion of the Year, a reflection of her commitment to delivering inspiring and architecturally superior buildings across the public sector.

On top of this, three of its schemes are in the running for the Best Primary Care Design Award. Sunshine House, designed by architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris; Penoyre & Prasad's Gracefield Gardens Health & Social Care Centre, and The Waldron Health Centre in Lewisham, by architects Buschow Henley, make up half of all the final contenders for the Best Primary Care Design Award. Sunshine House, with its extensive use of visual art, funded by Guy's & St Thomas' Charity, has also been shortlisted in the Best Use of Visual Art in Healthcare category.

In assessing the design categories, an expert panel of judges looked for several elements of excellence when making the nominations. This included a healthcare environment built in an innovative and professional manner, offering a superior patient environment and meeting the needs of the facilities, estates, products and people.

"We are delighted to have so many nominations at this year's Building Better Healthcare awards," commented Sylvie Pierce. "Its testimony to the continued dedication, professionalism and vision of the entire team and our relationships with our clients, who we are honoured to work with on projects that are redefining healthcare design in the UK."

Rising above a record 141 other entries, Building Better Health continues to show its expertise in property development, design solutions and a competitive understanding of healthcare. Prize winners and highly commended entries are to be announced at the Building Better Healthcare Awards ceremony on the 13th of November 2008, at The Brewery in London.
